Matchday 11 of the Hollywoodbets Super League delivered plenty of spills and thrills as the country’s premier women’s football league entered its final three rounds at the Amplified Festival at the Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium in Bloemfontein from Friday, 16 to Sunday, 18 October 2026.
University of the Western Cape (UWC) ended the winning streak of Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies with a goalless draw in the standout fixture of the festival.
Sundowns remain unbeaten and have yet to concede a goal in 11 matches.
The result leaves Sundowns 11 points clear of second-placed University of Pretoria and third-ranked UWC, who are level on 20 points. Sundowns coach Godfrey Sapula accepted that his side had been given a rare challenge.
“UWC gave us something to think about. Sometimes, when you need to work on certain details of your game, you always need a reference point and today we got one.”

“Our target was to win all 14 matches. We’ve won 10, drawn one and have three to go. The objective remains the same. We’re not checking who the opponent in front of us is. We are in a good space.”
For the second consecutive match, Super Rise Stream leaders JVW FC were held to a draw. JVW remain unbeaten after 11 matches, but their goalless stalemate against First Touch Ladies on Sunday did little to strengthen their position in the title race.

Stellenbosch Ladies finally recorded their first win of the campaign at the 11th attempt, edging Diepkloof Ladies 1-0. Both sides are battling to escape the relegation zone in the Super Era Stream.
“The win means everything to us because we’ve been working very hard for it. We can just be proud of the girls,” said Stellies co-coach Ilze Jones. “The job is not done yet. We still need to fight. There are three games coming up and we’re going to show up.”

The Bloemfontein festival saw new head coaches take charge at two clubs.
Former Copperbelt Ladies FC mentor Tebatso Sebela, who replaced Sizwe Sibiya, marked his debut as TS Galaxy Queens coach with a 3-2 victory over relegation-threatened Richmond Ladies on Sunday.
The win lifted Galaxy above his former club Copperbelt into fourth place. “I am so happy that TS Galaxy welcomed me with a win, even though I had been with them for two weeks,” said the 26-year-old.
Meanwhile, Matshipi Ramano succeeded Sebela at Copperbelt, beginning his tenure with a 1-1 draw against University of Pretoria on Saturday.
