US reaffirms support for Libyan military unification during Benghazi meeting
US Chargé d’Affaires to Libya Jeremy Berndt said Washington remains committed to supporting Libyan efforts to unify the country’s military institutions following talks with Khaled Haftar in Benghazi.
According to a statement posted by the US Embassy on X, the meeting focused on ongoing US-Libyan military relations and ways to strengthen coordination between the two sides.
Berndt said the US will continue engaging military officers across Libya and supporting the development of their professional capabilities, with the aim of promoting security and stability throughout the country.
