US Firm Culmen Launches K9 Training for Libya’s Ras Ajdair Crossing

Libya’s Customs Authority reported last Tuesday (11 August) that the Head of the Ras Ajdair Customs Centre received the team from US company Culmen —in the presence of Colonel Souf Graiz, the K9 Unit Supervisor for the General Administration—to mark the launch of a training course for the border crossing’s K9 unit (canine police detector / sniffer dogs).

The three-day course, which began last Tuesday, aims to train nine personnel in both theoretical and practical aspects, as well as to enhance the capabilities and efficiency of the dogs deployed at the crossing.

The Centre Head also discussed the training programme and its requirements with the company representatives—assisted by an interpreter—pledging to provide and facilitate everything necessary for the course’s success and the achievement of its objectives.

The Customs Authority said this course is part of an initiative to support and develop the K9 unit’s capabilities and to elevate the standard of security and customs operations at the crossing.
