US Federal Judge Dabney Friedrich has proposed January 19 as the new start date for the trial of Libyan national Abu Agela Al-Marimi, who is accused of preparing the bomb used in the 1988 Pan Am Flight 103 bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland.
The trial is expected to last around two months, with Friedrich saying she would finalize the date by September 18.
The trial was originally scheduled to begin on August 26 but was postponed indefinitely at the defense’s request. Friedrich said she would not grant another postponement and stressed the need to resolve procedural matters before jury selection.
