United to launch two new routes to Cartagena, Colombia


United will introduce new nonstop flights from Houston Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) to Cartagena, Colombia (CTG) starting 17 December 2026, subject to regulartory approvals.

Both routes will operate year-round, commencing initially with four flights per week using Boeing 737s during the inaugural winter season.

The new routes will open up greater access to the U.S. Northeast and Southern markets to river cruise operator AmaWaterways which has two ships sailing on the Magdalena River, from Cartagena to Barranquilla (and reverse).

“Colombia has been an important part of United’s Latin America network for more than 30 years, and our new service to Cartagena reflects our continued investment in the country and commitment to offering customers new and distinct travel experiences,” said Patrick Quayle, Senior Vice President of Network Planning and Global Alliances, United Airlines.

“As our third destination in Colombia, complementing our service to Bogota and Medellín, Cartagena gives our customers access to a different side of the country while making it easier for travelers across North America to experience one of the Caribbean’s most iconic destinations.”

  • CTG/IAD 4x weekly (Tue, Thu, Sat, Sun) Depart 1600/ Arrive 2040

  • CTG/IAH 4x weekly (Tue, Thu, Sat, Sun) Depart 1420/ Arrive 1745
