Davis Tames the Bullring for Third Straight USMTS Victory

NEVADA, Mo. (August 6, 2026) — Brandon Davis continued his red-hot streak Thursday night, leading the way from the Sybesma Graphics Pole and surviving six caution flags to capture the 2nd Annual Missouri Bullring Bash at Nevada Speedway.

The victory was worth $3,000 and marked the third consecutive Summit Racing Equipment United States Modified Touring Series presented by RacinDirt.com triumph for Davis. It was also the 14th USMTS victory of his career.

Davis entered the night carrying plenty of momentum, and the driver of the No. 50III showed no signs of slowing down on the tight Nevada Speedway bullring.

The evening began with Rodney Sanders turning in a dominant qualifying effort to earn the Hodges Farms & Dredging LLC Quick Time Award in Group A.

Four heat races followed, with Reece Solander, Gabe Hodges, Cade Dillard and Davis each racing to victory. Davis earned his heat-race win in dramatic fashion, making a last-lap pass on Tanner Mullens that ultimately placed him on the Sybesma Graphics Pole for the main event.

With $3,000 awaiting the winner, Davis led the 24-car field to the green flag with Dillard alongside him on the outside of the front row.

Davis quickly moved to the front, but six caution flags kept erasing his advantage and repeatedly brought the field back to his rear bumper. Each restart gave Dillard, Gary Christian, Sanders and the rest of the field another opportunity to challenge the leader.

Despite the repeated interruptions, Davis remained composed and continued to control the race.

While most drivers would prefer a long green-flag run while leading, Davis admitted the cautions provided some relief after contact with a lapped car left him concerned about possible damage to the right-front corner of his machine.

“Every single caution I was pretty happy for,” Davis said in Victory Lane. “One lapped car made a lane change, and I was worried about my right front because I tagged him pretty good. You never know what those lapped cars are going to do on a track like that.”

The contact did not slow him down.

Davis continued to hit his marks on every restart and eventually set the No. 50III on cruise control, keeping Dillard and the rest of the field behind him all the way to the checkered flag.

The win strengthened Davis’ position atop the USMTS National Championship standings. He will head to the next event holding a 48-point advantage over defending USMTS National Champion Jim Chisholm.

Dillard finished second after starting from the outside of the front row. He kept Davis within striking distance during portions of the race while also defending his position against challenges from Christian and Sanders.

Although Dillard was unable to wrestle the lead away from Davis, he held onto his original starting spot and secured a strong runner-up finish.

Christian brought a wicked-fast No. 58X to Nevada Speedway and spent much of the race battling Dillard and Sanders near the front of the field. The caution flags often interrupted Christian’s momentum, but they also provided opportunities for him to remain in contention and ultimately capture the final position on the Featherlite Trailers Top-3 podium.

Sanders, who began the night by setting the fastest qualifying lap in Group A, finished fourth. With the bottom groove serving as the preferred line for much of the field, passing opportunities were limited, but “The Rocket” secured another consistent finish in the battle for the national championship.

Sanders will travel to Lucas Oil Speedway sitting fourth in the standings, just 81 points behind Davis.

Kyle Brown delivered one of the night’s strongest drives, charging from 15th to fifth to earn the FK Rod Ends Hard Charger Award.

After a difficult heat race left him starting deep in the main-event field, Brown made the most of every opportunity in the A-Main. The driver from Madrid, Iowa, maneuvered his No. 21 Harris Auto Racing machine forward 10 positions to complete the top five.

Brown also continues to lead the season-long FK Rod Ends Hard Charger standings. If he can maintain that position through the remainder of the season, he will collect a $2,500 bonus during the year-end awards banquet.

At the front of the field, however, the night once again belonged to Davis.

Three consecutive victories have vaulted the veteran racer to the top of the championship standings and placed him among a select group of drivers with 14 career USMTS victories. With the summer stretch of the schedule heating up, Davis and the No. 50III team will look to continue their winning streak when the series returns to one of its most popular destinations.

The Summit Racing Equipment USMTS presented by RacinDirt.com will be back in action Friday, August 7, at Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri, for the 17th Annual Slick Mist Show-Me Shootout.

Davis will enter the event looking for his fourth consecutive victory, while Chisholm, Sanders, Dillard and the rest of the USMTS field attempt to bring his streak to an end at the “Diamond of Dirt Tracks.”
