Unbeaten North West B Set Up Title Decider with SACD in eMalahleni

North West B and South African Country Districts (SACD) booked their places in the final of the SA Hockey IPT B Section women’s tournament after convincing semi-final victories at The Hockey Farm in eMalahleni on Thursday, 3 September 2026.

North West B continued their dominant, unbeaten campaign with a 5-0 semi-final victory over the KZN Mynahs. Having lost by the exact same margin during the group phase, the Mynahs produced a resolute defensive effort to keep North West B scoreless throughout the opening half.

The breakthrough finally arrived in the 31st minute when Irene Strydom opened the scoring. Marika Neethling doubled the advantage from a penalty stroke in the 44th minute before North West B pulled away decisively in the final quarter.

Ahlumile Moni added the third goal in the 47th minute, Chanel Genis struck in the 51st minute, and Dine van Jaarsveld completed the scoreline from a penalty corner two minutes later in the 53rd minute.

Five different goalscorers contributed to a fourth successive victory for North West B, who head into the final boasting an exceptional goal difference of +14, having scored 15 goals and conceded just once across four matches in the tournament.

In the second semi-final, SACD booked their place in the title decider with a 3-0 victory over hosts Mpumalanga. Chenelle Roux gave the Country Districts side an early advantage with a ninth-minute opener. 

Nabeelah Bodenham extended the lead in the 20th minute to hand Mpumalanga a two-goal deficit at the interval.

Jayda van Antwerp added SACD’s third goal in the 45th minute to put the result beyond doubt and secure a return meeting with North West B.

SACD enter the final with a record of three victories and one loss, having scored eight goals while conceding three throughout their campaign.
