UAE , Kazakhstan Discuss Strengthening Consular Cooperation

Abu Dhabi — The United Arab Emirates and the Republic of Kazakhstan held talks on expanding consular cooperation, exchanging expertise, and adopting best practices in consular services.

The meeting took place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Abu Dhabi, where UAE Undersecretary Omar Obaid Al Shamsi received Kazakhstan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Arman Issagaliyev. 

The session was attended by Sheikha Hessa bint Sultan Al Nahyan, Assistant Undersecretary for Consular Affairs, along with senior officials from both sides.

Al Shamsi emphasized the depth of bilateral relations and their continued growth under the close friendship and vision of the two countries’ leaderships. He expressed hope to build on the positive outcomes of the fourth UAE–Kazakhstan Joint Consular Committee, held in Astana in May 2026, to enhance efficiency and readiness of consular services.

Sheikha Hessa highlighted the UAE’s ongoing efforts to modernize consular systems, stressing the importance of coordination to deliver innovative and proactive services that meet the needs of citizens of both nations.

Issagaliyev praised the UAE’s rapid progress across sectors, particularly in government services, technology, and innovation. He noted Kazakhstan’s interest in learning from the UAE’s experience in streamlining procedures and boosting consular efficiency.

During the visit, the Kazakh delegation reviewed the UAE’s Smart Mission project, the first of its kind globally, which leverages advanced technologies and artificial intelligence to simplify processes and improve service delivery.

Both sides also discussed the future of consular work amid accelerating digital transformation, highlighting the role of AI in expediting transactions, enhancing flexibility, and providing responsive solutions. They reaffirmed their commitment to advancing consular partnership and exploring new areas of cooperation.
