U.S. Gets Bad News On Future World Cups After President Trump’s Plea
The U.S. wants to host another World Cup – and soon. The United States, along with Canada and Mexico, played host to the 2026 FIFA Men’s World Cup. It was a rousing success, with millions from all over the globe enjoying the tournament and their time in the United States.
President Trump, 80, wants the United States to host another World Cup, pleading with FIFA to give him one before it’s too late.

“Based on the numbers, we will be requesting it immediately,” Trump told FOX Sports’ Jenny Taft before the World Cup Final in New Jersey between Spain and Argentina. “We have to do this again, and we have to do it while I’m around. You hear that Gianni?”

But it doesn’t sound like it’s happening anytime soon.
Former England international star Shaun Wright-Phillips has said that it’s “way too soon” to give the United States another World Cup. There’s been talk of the U.S. getting the 2038 World Cup.

“2038 is way too soon for the US to have the World Cup again, and I’ve had enough of the water breaks, to be totally honest!” Wright-Phillips said, via Jackpot City Casino. “It probably gave up in ways I didn’t want it to, but that’s where we’re at. It’ll be way too early.
“It’s for the world, not just for America, so there are other countries and places it needs to be before it comes back there.”
The U.S. will likely still make a push, though
The U.S. will likely still make a big push to host the 2038 World Cup. Europe is getting the 2030 World Cup and Saudi Arabia is getting the 2034 World Cup.

America, following its massively successful 2026 World Cup, could emerge as a serious contender to host the 2038 Tournament, even if the rest of the world is speaking out against it right now.
Time will tell if the U.S. can get what it wants.
