BALTIMORE (WBFF) — Two foreign nationals living unlawfully in the United States have pleaded guilty to federal immigration offenses in Maryland as part of a nationwide immigration enforcement initiative, federal prosecutors announced Tuesday.
On May 5, Israel Reyes-Medina, 39, a Mexican citizen, pleaded guilty to illegal reentry after deportation.
According to prosecutors, Reyes-Medina had previously been convicted of illegal entry and had been removed from the United States four times.

Authorities encountered him Jan. 8 in Middle River during an area enforcement operation.
In a separate case, on May 27, Nery Adelso Asmen-Raymundo, 43, a Guatemalan citizen, pleaded guilty to illegally entering the United States.
Federal officials said Asmen-Raymundo had been deported twice before, once in November 2009 and again in March 2010. Law enforcement officers located him in Baltimore on April 23.

The prosecutions are part of Operation Take Back America, a Department of Justice initiative focused on immigration enforcement, combating transnational criminal organizations and cartels, and reducing violent crime.
