Tottenham Hotspur have no plans to sack Roberto De Zerbi despite a disappointing start to the Premier League season, with the club’s hierarchy determined to give the Italian manager time to turn things around.

According to TEAMtalk, Spurs remain fully committed to De Zerbi, believing he is still the right man to lead the club despite failing to win any of their opening six league matches.

Tottenham stand firm on De Zerbi

The early results have raised concerns, particularly after a busy summer transfer window that saw Tottenham strengthen their squad. However, the club’s leadership is not prepared to make a knee-jerk decision based on the team’s struggles.

Instead, the hierarchy believes results will improve once De Zerbi’s players find consistency and adapt to his methods. The former Brighton manager also remains committed to the project, with no indication that he is considering walking away from the job.

Tottenham are determined to give their head coach the opportunity to get the best out of his revamped squad and demonstrate the benefits of their summer investment.

Spurs refuse to panic after difficult start

The current situation is not what Tottenham expected when the new campaign began, but the club believes there is still time to get their season back on track.

The board’s stance reflects its desire to build stability rather than make another managerial change at the first sign of trouble. De Zerbi’s tactical approach requires time, and Spurs are prepared to give him that opportunity despite the pressure created by their results.

The expectation is that improved performances will eventually follow as the team develops greater understanding and consistency.

De Zerbi’s previous survival mission counts

De Zerbi’s work at the end of last season remains an important factor in Tottenham’s decision to stand by him.

The Italian arrived in north London in late March with Spurs battling to avoid relegation. Despite having limited time to implement his ideas, he guided the club to Premier League survival.

That achievement has not been forgotten by the hierarchy, which views his previous work as a reason to maintain faith in him during the current difficult period.

For now, De Zerbi retains Tottenham’s backing, but the pressure will inevitably increase if results fail to improve. The club is hoping patience will pay off as the Italian attempts to get Spurs moving in the right direction.
