Three Stars ‘Set’ To Leave Rulani’s Pyramids

Three stars are reportedly set to leave Pyramids FC, with their departures said to be at the request of manager Rulani Mokwena.

Hamdi Headed For The Exit

While the side are understood to be searching for a new striker to replace the recently departed Fiston Mayele, another striker, Marwan Hamdi, is also thought to be on his way out of the club.

According to Egyptian reports, the 29-year-old has attracted interest from clubs in the Gulf, Libya and Iraq, with the latter deemed to be the most likely destination should Hamdi decide to leave the New Cairo outfit.

Al-Masry Al-Youm indicates that the player’s next destination is expected to be decided in the coming days.

Gouda And Amusan Also Cleared

It has further been suggested the South African tactician has recommended that defender Abdo Gouda also depart — either on a loan or a permanent move.

Mokwena is also said to have green-lighted the departure of Nigerian midfielder Samuel Amusan, “due to the lack of need for their technical services.”

More Departures Already Confirmed

This comes after the side lost the services of goalkeepers Sherif Ekramy and Ahmed Mayhoub, defenders Tarek Alaa and Ali Gabr, and attackers Emad Mayhoub and Mayele.

Pre-Season Preparations In Turkiye

Pyramids are gearing up for a season that will see them compete both on the domestic and continental front.

The side are currently on a camp in Turkiye, where they will play their final friendly match as part of their preparation programme on Saturday, August 8, before returning to Cairo the following day.

Before that, they take on Kuwaiti outfit Al-Arabi SC on Tuesday.
