‘The Beautiful Dome’: FIFA fans can take home merch featuring pieces of the Science World soccer ball

The 2026 FIFA World Cup may be over, but fans hungry to keep the fun going can now take home part of a landmark feature of the games.

Science World says it will be selling merch made from actual pieces of the panels that transformed its iconic dome into a giant soccer ball.

“The 131 custom-shaped panels that transformed Science World into a 40-metre-diameter re-creation of the adidas Trionda official match ball began coming down on Tuesday,” it said in a news release.

Pieces from The Beautiful Dome 2026 Collection include large patio umbrellas, duffle bags, and shopping totes, Science World says.

Each piece will be unique, carrying a distinct part of the design.

Science World began transforming its dome into a rendering of a giant soccer ball back in May. At the time, Destination Vancouver president Royce Chwin said the project was about creating a “globally iconic image that immediately connects Vancouver to the FIFA World Cup and showcases our city’s creativity and ambition.”

Prices for the merch range from $50 for a shopping tote to $800 for a patio umbrella. Fans also have the option to purchase an entire panel for $1,000. All proceeds will go toward Science World’s STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and design, and math) programming.

The collection went on sale Friday.
