Agadir – Talisman Metals PLC is preparing to launch a major drilling campaign at its Tirzzit copper project in Morocco, with the company targeting the first week of September to begin testing the project’s mineralized zones.
The UK-listed exploration company said today that it has engaged Geosond Maroc SARL to carry out approximately 3,000 meters of reverse circulation (RC) drilling. The program is expected to last about six weeks.
The campaign will focus primarily on establishing mineralization data points along the entire basal series strike identified through the company’s previous exploration work. Talisman will also conduct step-out drilling along the projected strike horizon to test for potential extensions of mineralization.
Laboratory assay results are expected to begin emerging toward the end of the drilling campaign and continue over the following weeks as samples are processed and delivered to the company.
Tirzzit is a sediment-hosted stratiform copper-silver (Cu-Ag) system located approximately 225 kilometers east of Agadir. The project comprises two mining licenses covering a combined area of 16.5 square kilometers.
Talisman announced the acquisition of the project from a wholly owned subsidiary of Aya Silver & Gold Inc. in February 2026. Aya, which retains a 4.7% stake in Talisman, is also involved in the ongoing formal transfer of the Tirzzit licenses to the UK-listed company.
The upcoming drilling campaign marks a further step in Talisman’s exploration program as it seeks to establish the extent and continuity of mineralization across the project.
Talisman said the program is designed to build mineralization data along the basal series while testing open extensions through targeted step-out drilling.
The company’s latest announcement follows exploration updates issued in May, July, and August, which outlined its work on the Tirzzit mineralized horizon.
