Sungrow builds 10 GWh battery plant in Suez Canal Zone, Egypt

A global manufacturer of solar photovoltaic (PV) Sungrow has launched a 10 GWh annual capacity energy storage manufacturing facility in Egypt’s Suez Canal Economic Zone. Commercial operations are scheduled to begin in June 2027. Initial output will supply 4 GWh of systems to the Sustainable Energy Valley project, which is being jointly developed by the Egyptian government and Norway’s Scatec. The localized facility supports regional delivery across the Middle East and Africa. This development follows Sungrow’s recent deployment of 1.2 GW of solar PV and 720 MWh of storage for the Abydos Phase II project.
