Libya’s General Electricity Company (GECOL) says construction of the new South Tripoli power plant is 98% complete.
The facility, located on the Al-Swani road, will have a capacity of 1,320 megawatts and includes four gas-fired units supplied by Germany’s Siemens and built by Turkey’s Calik.
The company says the project is strategic for the power sector and is expected to boost generation capacity and improve electricity supply once it becomes operational.
