Siyamthanda Qashani Leads the Way as Hollywoodbets Super League Title Races Tighten
Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies and JVW FC held firm at the top of their streams as Week 8 of the Hollywoodbets Super League delivered eight matches of drama, upsets and landmark results at the TUT Main Campus in Pretoria from Friday, 11 September to Sunday, 13 September 2026.
The single-venue format again concentrated a full round of top-flight women’s football into one weekend, with all sixteen clubs across the two streams in action in Pretoria and every result carrying championship and survival weight as the season enters its decisive stretch.
In the Super Era stream, the defending champions needed patience to break down a resolute Diepkloof Ladies on Friday, Refilwe Tholakele converting an 82nd-minute penalty to seal a 1-0 win that stretched Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies’ run to seven wins from seven, with 23 goals scored and none conceded, five points clear at the summit with a game in hand.
University of Pretoria produced the statement performance of the weekend on Saturday morning, sweeping Stellenbosch FC aside 4-0. Khunjolwa Mali opened the scoring before Siyamthanda Qashani struck three times either side of half-time, taking her league-leading tally to seven goals and lifting Tuks to second on goal difference. UWC matched Tuks on 16 points later that morning, seeing off TS Galaxy Queens 3-0 through a Tiffany Kortjie brace and a Sinazo Zinto own goal.

In the Super Rise stream, Nompumelelo Nyandeni’s 25th-minute strike had log leaders JVW FC on course for another three points on Friday evening, but Noko Matlou popped up in the third minute of stoppage time to earn battling Ramatlaohle Ladies FC a 1-1 draw. The result keeps JVW FC unbeaten and top of the log on 18 points after eight matches.
Saturday belonged to City Lads. The Gqeberha side came from behind to beat TUT FC 3-2 for a first victory of the campaign, Iminathi Makinana striking twice either side of Bongiwe Ngoepe’s effort in a devastating nine-minute spell after Andiswa Jele had given TUT FC the lead. Mamokgaase Senyatsi pulled one back late on, but City Lads held firm to move off zero points.
Sunday opened with an upset as Ezemvelo Women’s FC beat second-placed University of Johannesburg 2-1, goals from Maxoli Mkhize and Mukelwa Mkhize putting the KwaZulu-Natal side in control before Lusanda Mavundla replied, while Kesha Hendricks’ 26th-minute strike earned the University of Fort Hare a hard-fought 1-0 win over First Touch FC Ladies.
The weekend leaves JVW FC four points clear of the University of Johannesburg in the Super Rise, with the University of Fort Hare a further point back, while the Super Era race tightens behind Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, with University of Pretoria and UWC locked on 16 points and Copperbelt FC lurking with a game in hand.
Behind the leading pack in the Super Rise, TUT FC and Ramatlaohle Ladies FC sit level on 11 points, with Ezemvelo Women’s FC and First Touch FC Ladies on nine and City Lads off the mark on three.
