Shooting Stars to open 2026/27 NPFL season against debutants Inter Lagos

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan will begin their 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign with a home fixture against newly promoted Inter Lagos.

The pairing was confirmed during the official fixtures draw conducted at the NPFL Annual General Meeting (AGM) held in Ibadan on Friday.

The Oluyole Warriors will be aiming to make a winning start to the new season against the Lagos-based side, which is set to make its top-flight debut.

The match is scheduled for August 28 at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan.

Other opening-day fixtures will see Ikorodu City host Ranchers Bees, while Abia Warriors welcome Kun Khalifat.

Newly promoted Barau FC will face Nasarawa United, and Bendel Insurance will take on Warri Wolves in another exciting encounter.

Former champions Rivers United will host Plateau United, while Kwara United will battle Kano Pillars.

Doma United will entertain Sporting Lagos, and Niger Tornadoes will lock horns with Enyimba in one of the standout fixtures of the opening weekend.
