World Cup matches

At this year’s World Cup, Diaw initially remained on the bench. He came on after Édouard Mendy was injured in the group-stage match against Norway, and later played against Iraq and in the Round of 32 match against Belgium, which Senegal lost 2-3.

During the off-season, Al-Shabab also signed Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey as a free agent. After two matches in the Saudi Pro League, the team has yet to record a win.
