The International Monetary Fund is in Dakar this week as part of efforts to address Senegal’s debt misreporting issue disclosed in 2024. Robert Besseling, CEO of Pangea-Risk, says the two-week mission will serve as a tense testing ground for whether the IMF and Senegalese authorities can reach a compromise on fiscal reforms. He joins CNBC Africa to discuss Senegal’s road to economic recovery.
