– The semi-final line-up is set after an exhilarating day two of football in the 2026 Engen Knockout Challenge Johannesburg leg.

With the tournament living up to its promise of “Where the Legends Start” the best teams stood tall at Wits Marks Park Stadium on Saturday, 18 July, advancing to the business end of the competition in style.

The day first began with the completion of the group stage matches that had not been played on Friday to determine the teams that would go on to play the quarterfinals.

The Boys’ U-18 quarterfinals saw Kathorus Hyper Academy and Kaizer Chiefs FC advance after winning their respective penalty shootouts against TUKS and Highlands Park FC, with both matches ending goalless.

Mamelodi Sundowns FC were the only side to progress in regulation time, edging Siwelele FC 1-0. Randburg AFC completed the semifinal lineup by eliminating Orlando Pirates 6-4 on penalties after a 0-0 draw, capping off a tightly contested quarterfinal stage.

The women’s quarterfinals produced plenty of excitement, with Mamelodi Sundowns FC setting the tone through a 2-0 win over University of Pretoria. The University of Johannesburg followed that up with a slender 1-0 victory against JVW-Easterns.

Kaizer Chiefs Ladies then joined their men’s team in the semi-finals after dispatching Panorama FC 2-0. Mamelodi 11 Stars rounded off the day’s action with a 2-1 victory over Future Stars Ladies, sealing the final semifinal qualification.

The semi-finals and finals will be played at the same venue on Sunday, 19 July, with the champions earning qualification for the Engen Champ of Champs.

Boys’ U-18 Semi-finals:
