Saipem books USD 350m offshore contract in Angola | Offshore news

The Milan-based offshore services and drilling company Saipem has announced that it has been awarded a new offshore contract in Angola worth approximately USD 350m.

The contract has been assigned by Azule Energy Angola S.p.A., an incorporated joint venture owned by Eni and bp.

The work specifically relates to the West Hub Tails project, part of the wider Agogo Integrated West Hub Development, located 180 km offshore Angola at water depths up to 1,750 meters.

Saipem’s scope of work covers the engineering, fabrication, transportation and installation of subsea infrastructures, including approximately 62 km of flowlines, risers and umbilicals, to be tied-in to the Agogo Floating Production, Storage, and Offloading unit (FPSO), with an expected duration of approximately two and half years.

Fabrication activities will be carried out at Saipem’s Ambriz yard in Angola, with the involvement of local companies and workforce.

For the offshore campaign, Saipem will deploy the construction vessels FDS and Normand Maximus.
