Saibari Provides Assist in Bayern Munich’s 2-1 Win Over Elversberg

Rabat – Morocco international Ismael Saibari continued his productive start to life at Bayern Munich by providing an assist in the German champions’ 2-1 Bundesliga victory away to Elversberg on Sunday.

Saibari was handed another start by Vincent Kompany and played an important role in Bayern’s opening goal in the 26th minute.

The Moroccan drove into the penalty area from the left before sending a low ball across goal. The delivery travelled through the box to Lennart Karl at the far post, with the Bayern youngster finishing left-footed to give the visitors a 1-0 advantage.

The assist was Saibari’s third in the Bundesliga this season, putting him joint-top of the league’s assist rankings after three matchdays, according to the competition’s official live data.

Saibari remained involved in Bayern’s attacking play and came close to scoring himself, directing a header wide before later curling another attempt past the post.

Elversberg responded strongly after the break and equalized in the 61st minute through Maurice Krattenmacher. The former Bayern youngster found space outside the penalty area before curling an impressive finish beyond goalkeeper Jonas Urbig, with Noah Darvich providing the assist.

Saibari’s afternoon ended four minutes later when Kompany introduced Luis Díaz as part of a four-player substitution.

Kane delivers the winner

Bayern restored their lead in the 72nd minute through Harry Kane.

Aleksandar Pavlović found the England captain inside the area, and Kane created enough space before firing into the top corner to make it 2-1. The goal was his 150th in 153 competitive appearances for Bayern.

The visitors protected their advantage despite late pressure from Elversberg, ending the promoted side’s perfect start after victories over Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Mönchengladbach.

Bayern move onto seven points from their opening three Bundesliga matches, having beaten Stuttgart 5-1 before drawing 0-0 at Schalke and winning in Elversberg.

For Saibari, the assist adds to an encouraging opening to his first season in Germany following his summer move from PSV Eindhoven. Bayern return to Bundesliga action against Union Berlin on Friday.
