Sahara: Liberia reaffirms support for Morocco’s territorial integrity

The Republic of Liberia on Thursday in Rabat reaffirmed its longstanding support for Morocco’s territorial integrity and sovereignty over its entire territory, including the Sahara region.

This position was expressed by Liberia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sara Beysolow Nyanti, following talks with Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita.

She also stressed that Liberia, as a non-permanent member of the Security Council, will work hand in hand with Morocco and support it within the UN body during the upcoming discussions scheduled for October 2026 at the United Nations Security Council.

The Liberian top diplomat further underlined the depth of relations between Morocco and Liberia, highlighting the two countries’ shared determination to continue strengthening this momentum under the leadership of King Mohammed VI and President Joseph Boakai.

The Liberian minister also voiced her country’s commitment to broadening the scope of Moroccan-Liberian cooperation, particularly in the diplomatic, cultural, and economic fields, in the interests of both countries and their peoples.
