A series of Russian strikes killed civilians across multiple regions on Ukraine’s Day of Mourning. Zelensky appealed for united international pressure and a diplomatic end to the war.
On the Day of Remembrance and Honor for the Victims of War, Russia once again strikes Ukraine. Zelensky noted that today Russia began the day not with honoring the memory of the fallen, but with new killings that complicate efforts to restore peace.
In his speech, he stressed that the world must intensify pressure on Russia and mobilize efforts to end the war with a dignified peace and real protection for people’s lives.

According to official sources, in Zaporizhzhia last night two people were killed and seven injured, and civilians were also wounded in Odesa, Kherson, Donetsk, and Kharkiv regions. Additionally, strikes were carried out on the energy infrastructure of Chernihiv region.

World War II began on September 1, 1939, with the invasion of Nazi Germany of Poland. The Western Ukrainian lands, then part of Poland, became the arena of battles from the first days of the war.
