Dnipropetrovsk tightens evacuations, Nikopol defenses
Following more than 40 strikes across the region since Tuesday – including a first-person-view (FPV) drone attack that killed three civilians in Nikopol – regional authorities convened a Defense Council to address evacuation security and anti-drone defenses.
“We must work as one first,” Regional Governor Oleksandr Hanzha said. “This is the most important thing right now.”
The Defense Council determined that rescue crews operating under shelling must minimize road risks for both responders and residents, changing routes when needed and maintaining contact with the military and law enforcement.
Hanzha highlighted anti-drone tunnels as a core defense measure in Nikopol, one of the hardest-hit districts.
