Russia attacked two merchant ships

Russian forces attacked two merchant ships flying the flags of Tanzania and Liberia in the Black Sea. The captain of one of the ships was killed and three other crew members were injured.

This was reported by the head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, Oleg Kiper, and the Ukrainian Sea Ports Administration (USPA).

According to the OVA, the crew of one of the vessels, consisting of 11 people, was evacuated to shore. Three sailors were injured.

“The enemy continues to target civilian vessels in the Black Sea. The next target of the aggressor was two merchant ships moving along the sea corridor under the flags of Tanzania and Liberia,” Kiper wrote in Telegram.

The USPA noted that Russia has been attacking the port infrastructure of Greater Odessa and civilian shipping for the fifth day in a row.

“For the fifth day in a row, Russia has not stopped terrorizing the port infrastructure of Greater Odessa and civilian shipping. Day and night, the enemy strikes with ballistic missiles and drones, purposefully attacking ports, civilian vessels, and people who ensure the work of the maritime industry,” the report says.

The maritime administration also reported that another person was killed in the latest attack, bringing the total number of casualties since the start of this wave of Russian strikes to nine.

It was previously reported that on the morning of July 13, Russian troops struck the transport infrastructure of Odessa.
