Darrell, affectionately known as “D” to friends and family who loved him most, passed away after a lengthy illness. A graveside service was held at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens on Friday, May 8, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Darrell Burns officiated.
Son of the late C.
C. Cameron, Jr. and Dallastine Gay Cameron was born December 28, 1949, in Ocilla, Irwin County, GA. Darrell was preceded in death by his only sibling, Deborah Cameron Crumbley. At the age of six, his family moved to South Macon, GA. He was a 1968 graduate of Willingham-McEvoy High and always made a point to keep in touch with his friends from this time.
Darrell was a lifelong fan of fast cars, especially ’68 Camaros, and enjoyed watching NASCAR. He retired from Purina Mills in Macon and Southern Company Plant Scherer in Juliette. He was admired for his work ethic and dependable personality.
He will be missed by those left to cherish his memory. His survivors include his wife of more than 30 years, Ann Cameron, daughters; Christy (Rob) and Ashley, son; Chad (Davida), stepdaughter; Andrea (Howell), stepson; Clint (Meigan), grandchildren; Hannah (Marcus), Sara (John), Mahalie, Caleb, Chase (Chloe), Nora, Julia, Marshall, and great-grandchildren; Cooper and Jackson.
In lieu of flowers, his family would like to request contributions to Sunshine Church, 118 Jackson Road, Round Oak, GA 31038.
