RedSquid TV and Watch TV have formed a commercial partnership aimed at bringing artificial intelligence-powered television services to thousands of broadband providers across Brazil, with plans to eventually expand the platform into other international markets.
The agreement combines Watch TV’s distribution relationships with more than 2,300 Internet service providers serving approximately 12 million active subscribers with RedSquid TV’s television and set-top box operating system and Agentic AI platform.
Under the partnership, RedSquid will provide middleware and operating-system software for television sets and set-top boxes. Watch TV will distribute its entertainment service through the RedSquid platform, including programming from more than 30 content studios.
The companies said they will jointly develop services spanning AI-powered content discovery, personalized viewing, customer engagement, Edge AI advertising and operator-led commerce. Watch TV will also receive early access to RedSquid TV’s Agentic AI roadmap, allowing its ISP partners to introduce AI functionality directly within the television experience.
“Agentic AI is fundamentally transforming television. By combining Watch TV relationships with operators across Brazil with RedSquid TV’s operator-grade AI platform, we can help thousands of service providers deliver a new generation of intelligent television experiences while accelerating our international ambitions,” Maurício Almeida, the co-Founder and Chairman of Watch TV, said on Monday. “Watch TV has always believed that television is one of the most powerful ways for broadband providers to differentiate their services, increase customer loyalty and create new revenue opportunities.”
Watch TV launched in 2017 and provides television services that ISPs can bundle with fiber broadband. The company said its platform currently offers more than 30,000 hours of programming and over 80 live television channels.
“Brazil represents one of the world’s most exciting markets for the next generation of television. Watch TV has already built the distribution network that connects premium entertainment with thousands of regional broadband providers,” RedSquid TV CEO Trevor Neal said. “Together, we can turn that network into a platform for AI-powered television, helping operators increase engagement, create new revenue streams and, most importantly, regain control of the customer relationship.”
The companies are positioning the arrangement as a way for smaller and regional broadband operators to offer television products without developing their own platforms. They also plan to explore AI-driven advertising, personalized content merchandising, commerce and other services running directly on connected television devices.
RedSquid and Watch TV said they intend to expand the partnership beyond Brazil over time, including potential deployments elsewhere in Latin America and Europe.
