Rabat – Spanish club Real Betis have submitted an official offer to sign Moroccan U20 international Hamza Raji from Renaissance Berkane during the current summer transfer window, according to exclusive information reported by Moroccan sports outlet Elbotola.
The Andalusian club’s interest in Raji comes after the youngster impressed during the Mediterranean Games, while also making an impact across Renaissance Berkane’s youth teams and first team during the previous season.
Despite the official offer, no final agreement has been reached between Real Betis and Renaissance Berkane. Negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing as they discuss the possibility of completing the transfer.
The coming days are expected to be decisive, with Real Betis continuing to show interest in securing the services of the young Moroccan forward.
Raji’s emergence has added to the growing attention around Morocco’s young generation of footballers. His performances at club level and with the national youth teams have put him on the radar of European clubs.
Who is Hamza Raji?
Hamza Raji is an 18-year-old Moroccan footballer born on October 9, 2007, in Casablanca. He primarily plays as a centre-forward and can also operate on the right wing.
Raji began his development at the Raja Casablanca youth academy before joining Renaissance Berkane in July 2024. He has since progressed through the club’s setup and made appearances for the senior team during the 2025-26 season.
The young forward has also become an important player for the Morocco U20 national team. He has represented the side since August 2025 and has recorded five appearances and three goals at U20 level, according to Africafoot.
Raji notably impressed at the COTIF international tournament in Spain, where he finished as the competition’s top scorer and helped Morocco U20 win the tournament.
