Prince Harry’s Team Blasts King Charles After Uganda Pulls Out of Invictus Games

Uganda withdrew from the Invictus Games, citing deference to King Charles III, affecting the competition’s international field. The decision followed a Wednesday post on X by General Muhoozi Kainerugaba and came as Prince Harry’s team, per ITV News on September 9, linked the timing to a royal status letter. The letter, issued on September 7 on behalf of King Charles III, reiterated that Harry and Meghan Markle remain non-working royals. A source close to the Duke of Sussex said guidance from the Lord Chamberlain was circulated without consultation and would affect Invictus Games competitors. The annual event, founded in 2014, supports rehabilitation for wounded, injured and sick service members and veterans; the next Games are set for July 2027.
