Pressure Mounting On Truter At Chippa United

Pressure is mounting on Brandon Truter at Chippa United as the Eastern Cape-based side prepares for a difficult test against Mamelodi Sundowns before the FIFA break.

Chippa have struggled for results at the start of the 2026/27 Betway Premiership campaign and are still searching for their first victory after five matches.

Truter’s side have managed four draws and suffered one defeat, leaving them without a win heading into what promises to be a demanding encounter against the league leaders.

Chippa will face Sundowns at Buffalo City Stadium in KuGompo City on Saturday, with the visitors arriving in strong form after cementing their position at the top of the table with a 3-0 victory over Siwelele FC on Wednesday.

The timing of the fixture could add further pressure on Truter, with the FIFA break looming and several clubs already making changes in their technical departments.

This week alone, Siwelele parted ways with Lehlohonolo Seema following their difficult start to the campaign, while Marumo Gallants also relieved Phuti Mohafe of his coaching duties.

Truter, meanwhile, remains in the Chippa hot seat, but the lack of a victory after the opening five matches has increased scrutiny around his position.

The match against Sundowns could therefore prove an important one for the Chilli Boys mentor as he looks to get his side back on track before the international break.
