Polokwane City Star Still Absent

Simon Ramabu has still not returned to Polokwane City for pre-season ahead of the new campaign.

Ramabu was in the news recently when it came to light that he was refusing to return to training.

Polokwane City and Ramabu seem to be in disagreement over contractual issues. While the player allegedly believes his contract expired on 30 June 2026, club insiders say they have two more years, according to sources within the Rise and Shine ranks.

Ramabu has reportedly attracted interest from Golden Arrows and Marumo Gallants. However, Polokwane City expects him to honour their contract.

He made 27 league appearances last season, which is an indication of his rise in recent times.

The club and Ramabu have declined to comment at this stage.

Meanwhile, the Limpopo side has released Saketso Moremi, Keagile Malepe, Sabelo Motsa, Brian Bwire, Thabelo Tshikweta, Rudzani Thobo and Sibusiso Tshabalala.

Moremi is training with Marumo Gallants, and Thabelo Tshikweta has moved to Kruger United.

Bwire is linked with Eastern Cape side Chippa United.
