Patrons pack Plantation Cove for Rise and Toast, the opening event of Best Weekend Ever 2026.
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Summer isn’t ending quietly. It’s ending with a bang.
Midas Entertainment is closing Jamaica’s 2026 entertainment calendar the only way the island knows how — with two blockbuster nights at Plantation Cove on August 29 and 30, now bearing the official endorsement as lead-up experiences to the legendary Dream Weekend 2027.
This isn’t just a payoff. It’s a power move. The endorsement locks both events into Dream Weekend’s promotional cycle and plants Midas firmly at the heart of Jamaica’s cultural landscape — built for the locals, the diaspora, and the world beyond.
“We are pleased to welcome Midas Entertainment’s events as endorsed lead-up experiences to Dream Weekend 2027. Sophisticated and ENCORE LIVE: Culture Rising each bring a strong and distinctive energy to the entertainment calendar, and we are all for it,” Scott Dunn, managing director of Dream Entertainment, said.
The glam hits the gravel as the organisers behind ‘Sophisticated’ will transform Plantation Cove into a beachside playground where dancehall, fashion and social culture collide. Headlined by dancehall starlet Vanessa Bling — with fire behind the decks from Trippple X, Bishop Escobar and Illusion Sound, starting at 4:00pm.
Twenty-four hours later, the mic takes center stage. ‘ENCORE LIVE: Culture Rising’ is a masterclass in legendary sound — reggae and dlancehall icon Capleton headlining, joined by Nesbeth and Dean Fraser, with sound duties from DJ Delano (Renaissance) and Bass Odyssey.
This is culture, preserved and amplified — pure Jamaican excellence in motion.
“This Dream Weekend endorsement reflects our ongoing growth as event curators… it shows the value of creating events that connect audiences at home and abroad while contributing to Jamaica’s wider entertainment and tourism offering,” Stefan Ebanks, head of business development and strategic partnerships of Midas Entertainment, said.
Dunn doubled down on the bond: “This endorsement is most definitely an alignment between both brands… two very distinct cultural expressions that are uniquely Jamaican.”
Summer’s about to end the only way Jamaica knows how — loud, legendary and unforgettable.
