PKPS explores China partnership to strengthen Selangor agrofood sector

SHAH ALAM, Aug 9 — The Selangor Agricultural Development Corporation (PKPS) sent a delegation to China on Tuesday to explore potential areas of cooperation and strengthen strategic collaborations in the agrofood sector.

The delegation was led by PKPS group chief executive officer Datuk Mohamad Khairil Mohamad Razi, who visited China Modern Dairy Holdings Ltd and observed its use of modern technology in the livestock industry.

They were hosted by China Modern Dairy executive director Zhu Xiaohui, and both parties signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

In a video post on its Facebook page yesterday, PKPS said the visit reflects its commitment to strengthening food security and developing a more sustainable agricultural industry.

“Seeing the application of modern technology in the agriculture and livestock sectors first hand is very exciting. This is a very interesting and inspiring experience!” PKPS said in a separate post on Thursday.

In the video, Khairil expressed his gratitude to China Modern Dairy for its invitation and warm hospitality shown to the Selangor delegation.

“This cooperation is not just about technology transfer and creating opportunities to share experiences, but has the potential to create a more sustainable agricultural ecosystem and contribute to the development of the agrofood sector in Selangor and Malaysia,” he said.

Many Facebook users left comments on yesterday’s video post congratulating PKPS on exploring cooperation opportunities in China, which they said would elevate Selangor’s agrofood sector.

PKPS said in the comments that it would continue exploring such collaborations to create more economic development opportunities for Selangor and the people’s well-being, and especially to ensure food security.
