The story

Orlando Pirates supporters have wasted no time welcoming new signing Sebastian Pedersen, with the Ghost taking to social media to celebrate the arrival of the Norwegian striker following his move from Sogndal Fotball.

The Buccaneers confirmed on Sunday that the 27-year-old forward has signed a two-year contract, with the club holding an option to extend the deal by a further season, making him Pirates’ eighth addition of an ambitious transfer window.

Pedersen joins a growing list of new faces at Mayfair, following the arrivals of Mthetheleli Mthiyane, Sbangani Zulu, Matome Mmolai, Bohale Ngwato, Ghampani Lungu, Neo Rapoo and Aphiwe Baliti. However, Baliti has since returned to Siwelele FC on loan.

His arrival has already generated plenty of excitement among the Happy People, with supporters flooding social media to welcome the striker and express optimism about what he could bring to Abdeslam Ouaddou’s side ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

The Norwegian arrives with an impressive résumé, having represented his country at every junior international level from the Under-15s through to the Under-21s, while also establishing himself as a reliable goalscorer at club level.

Known for his intelligent movement inside the penalty area, Pedersen has been described as “a one-touch finisher rather than a bulldozer,” a striker who thrives on sharp positioning and clinical finishing rather than relying on physicality.

His record of 51 goals in 117 appearances suggests the Pirates have acquired a proven finisher as they continue to reshape their squad for the new season.

With expectations building around the Buccaneers’ latest recruit, supporters have embraced Pedersen’s arrival with enthusiasm, adding to the growing excitement surrounding Pirates’ busy transfer window and the club’s preparations for the campaign ahead.

Take a look at what the fans had to say on Pirates’ Norwegian recruit, who has already been dubbed “Baby Haaland,” with some fans also promising to bring the “Viking Row” to Es’godini:
