Pegasus Airlines Delegation Visits Mitiga Airport for New Libya Route

Mitiga International Airport received a delegation from Pegasus Airlines yesterday to discuss arrangements for operating a new air route connecting Turkey and Tripoli via Mitiga Airport.

Pegasus Airlines is a privately-owned budget carrier based in Istanbul. Its flight route map shows that it currently only flies to two North African destinations: Morocco and Egypt.

The airport reported that this comes within the framework of strengthening cooperation in the field of air transport and developing travel between Libya and Turkey.

The delegation was received by the Director General of Mitiga International Airport, Lutfi Nashnoush, the Director of Operations and Safety, Jamal Dahim, the Director of the Security Office, Fadel Aoun, along with several members of the airport’s Operations and Safety Authority and members of the Civil Aviation Authority.

This visit comes within the framework of coordination and cooperation to discuss the mechanisms for operating the new air route, which will contribute to supporting air transport, strengthening ties between the two countries, providing better services to passengers, and opening new horizons for cooperation with international airlines.

Those present emphasized the importance of this step in supporting the position of Mitiga International Airport and expanding the network of international flights, which will serve travel, trade, and tourism between Libya and Turkey. Public Relations and Media Office
