The Pakistani community in Liberia has joined millions of Pakistanis around the world in celebrating the country’s 79th Independence Day, using the occasion to reflect on Pakistan’s history and culture while highlighting the community’s growing contribution to Liberia’s business and economic landscape.

Speaking to the press, prominent Pakistani businessman Mr. Asad Ullah Baig stressed that Pakistani businesses operating in Liberia have responsibilities that extend beyond commercial success.

Baig emphasized the need for Pakistani entrepreneurs to contribute positively to the Liberian society in which they operate while helping strengthen relations between Pakistan and Liberia.

He said trade, investment and business cooperation could serve as important instruments for deepening bilateral relations between the two countries.

According to Baig, Pakistani entrepreneurs can play the role of a bridge between Pakistan and Liberia by identifying areas where businesses and investors from both countries can collaborate for mutual economic benefit.

He encouraged greater engagement between Pakistani and Liberian businesses, noting that stronger commercial relationships could open opportunities in areas such as investment, technology transfer, trade and private-sector partnerships.

The Independence Day celebration also served as an opportunity for members of the Pakistani community to reflect on their country’s historical journey, cultural heritage and achievements since independence.
