Pakistan vows to support, strengthen Somalia’s security apparatus

RAWALPINDI  –  A high-level delegation from the Federal Republic of Somalia, led by Defence Minister  Ambassador Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, called on Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff (COAS0 and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) here at General Headquarters (GHQ) on Thursday. During the meeting, matters of mutual interest, regional security dynamics, and measures to further enhance bilateral defence and security cooperation were discussed. Both sides underscored the importance of deepening military-to-military ties and capacity building initiatives to counter common security challenges.

According to a press release issued by the by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the visiting dignitary appreciated Pakistan’s steadfast support and the professional role played by the Pakistan Armed Forces in promoting regional peace and stability.

The Field Marshal reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to supporting Somalia in strengthening its security apparatus and fostering enduring peace in the region.
