NPFL27: Tornadoes vs Enyimba Tackles End In 2-1 – Independent Newspaper Nigeria

The Sunday Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL27) opening match between Niger Tornadoes football club of Minna and visiting Enyimba football club of Aba ended in 2-1 in favour of the home team.

Both teams started well with good handling of ball and defence, but Niger Tornadoes took the lead scoring the first goal courtesy of Aliyu Mohammed Goyi towards the end of the first forty-five minutes through penalty kick.

Visiting Enyimba came out strong in the second half with a good header from Wonah Williams for an equalizer shortly into the second half, but Olalusi Michael quickly added one more goal to seal the encounter 2-1.

Speaking to Sports journalists shortly after, the Chief Coach of Niger Tornadoes, Kabiru Dogo and his Enyimba football club counterpart, Emmanuel Deutcsh described the outing as very impressive.

While Niger Tornadoes Coach, Dogo attributed the 2-1 win against Enyimba to strategies by the new management team, Deutsch said the win and loss in the name of football.

For the Enyimba Chief Coach, “It was a good play and good start for both teams. That is the game of football, a winner must emerge”.

Both coach Kabiru and Deutcsh promising to evolve strategies for maximum points ahead expressed optimism that better days are ahead for the NPFL27 season.
