NPFL: Alhaji Garo targets NPFL title with Kano Pillars

Kano Pillars chairman Alhaji Ahmad Musbahu Garo has disclosed that his side are targeting the NPFL title in the upcoming season, www.aclsports.com reports.

Sai Masu Gida last won the league title in 2014 and they have not won a major title since 2019 when they won the Federation Cup title.

In a brief chat with ACLSports, Garo, who was recently named the chairman of the biggest club in the Northern part of the country, confirmed his side’s preparation for the new season and the set target before them.

“The preparations are in top gear. We are ready and we are good to go. The target is to win the league. Nothing short of that,” Garo declared.

On the appointment of Daniel Ogunmodede as the club’s new head coach, he spoke about the desire for excellence and the recent success of the tactician.

“Pillars being the most followed club in the NPFL and the best in the country, we had to go for the best and I think Ogunmodede is the best recently. He’s the first assistant of the Super Eagles and he won the league with Remo Stars,” Garo concluded.

The Kano side have already brought in several players in their quest to win the NPFL this coming season.

Kano Pillars will travel to Ilorin to face Kwara United in their season opener on August 30th.
