Wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das was ruled out of Bangladesh’s forthcoming one-off Test against Zimbabwe, confirmed the Bangladesh Cricket Board on Sunday.

Mahidul Islam was called up as a replacement for Litton.

Mahidul has so far played only one Test, against South Africa in 2024, in place of Jaker Ali, who was ruled out due to concussion.

The BCB also confirmed that it was the same calf strain Litton was suffering from that kept him out of the recently concluded three-match T20I series against Australia.

‘The BCB Medical Team has assessed his condition and is of the opinion that the batsman will struggle to get match fit for the Test within the time available,’ the BCB said in a press release.

The only Test between the two countries starts on June 28 at Harare. The Bangladesh team is supposed to leave the country on Wednesday.

The selectors opted to experiment in the one-off Test against Zimbabwe, as they included uncapped Towhid Hridoy and Robiul Haque.

All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz, along with the pace duo of Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana, were also rested.

Bangladesh will also play three ODIs and T20Is each in the tour.
