Aden — The International Organization for Migration (IOM) reported Monday that nearly 250 people were internally displaced in Yemen during the past week, with more than two-thirds of them in the coastal province of Al-Hudaydah.
According to the IOM’s Displacement Tracking Matrix (DTM), 41 families comprising 246 individuals were displaced at least once between July 5 and 11, 2026.
The figure represents a 10 percent increase compared to the previous week, when 37 families (222 people) were recorded.
The report noted that 68 percent of newly displaced families were in Al-Hudaydah (28 families, mostly internally displaced), followed by Marib, which received 11 families from Sana’a and Dhamar, while Taiz registered two families displaced from Aden and Al-Hudaydah.
Needs assessments showed that 44 percent of families required shelter support, 27 percent food assistance, 15 percent non-food items, and 7 percent financial or livelihood aid.
The majority of displacements last week 32 families (78 percent) were driven by safety and security concerns. Seven families (17 percent) left due to economic hardship linked to the conflict, while two families (5 percent) were displaced by natural disasters.
The DTM also identified 13 additional displaced families not included in the previous week’s report, raising the cumulative total since the start of 2026 to 1,356 families, or 8,136 individuals.
