Nabi’s Financial Demands During Negotiations
According to reports from Moroccan sports publication Al Mountakhab, the Tunisian tactician requested a monthly salary of $60,000 (approximately R994,340) during negotiations to take over at the Casablanca-based giants.
While exact finalised figures remain undisclosed by the club in their official unveiling, it is understood that the 60-year-old’s financial expectations would have placed him in the upper echelon of coaching salaries on the continent, reflecting the pedigree of a manager brought in to lead a project of significant ambition.
It was further reported that the two parties initially found themselves at odds over the financial terms, with a gap between what the club was prepared to offer and what the coach felt his services warranted.
However, it is understood that progress was made towards a middle ground, with both sides eventually reaching a compromise that paved the way for the confirmation that Nabi had landed the role.
