Munro start daCosta campaign with Belair routing

Former champions Munro College, Rusea’s High, and Frome Technical were among six schools that maintained winning starts in the ISSA daCosta Cup football competition with comfortable wins.
Munro College hammered Belair High 9-0 at Munro to take over the lead in Group D on goal difference over BB Coke High; Rusea’s High were 6-0 winners over Petersfield High in Group B, while Frome Technical beat Knockalva Technical 4-1.
Irwin High, Black River High, and Happy Grove also won back-to-back games to start the season.
Wayne Mullings scored twice to lead Frome Technical to their second win after the school was awarded full points against Grange Hill on Saturday.
At Jarrett Park, Irwin High took control of Group A with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Cambridge High, with Cavon Morris and Nathaniel Foster scoring in each half to take their tallies to two goals in as many games.

Morris gave Irwin High the lead in the 27th minute, and a defensive lapse allowed Foster to add a second in the 85th minute, ending Cambridge High’s hopes of earning at least a point.
Black River High continued their winning start, beating deCarteret College 5-1 in their Group D game played at Black River High.
Happy Grove High blanked Robert Lightbourne High 3-0 in their Group H top-of-the-table clash and assumed the lead.
Knox College are the leaders in Group F after beating Claude McKay High 3-0, their first win of the season after drawing their opening game on Saturday.
