MTN Uganda has launched MTNTV, a digital entertainment platform that brings live television, radio, movies and sports together in a single streaming service.
The platform is designed to give Ugandan audiences access to a wider range of digital content while creating new opportunities for local storytellers, filmmakers, musicians, educators, broadcasters and other digital creators.
Sylvia Mulinge, CEO of MTN Uganda, said the platform goes beyond content consumption by creating opportunities for creators to reach larger audiences and participate more actively in the digital economy.
“I believe the next chapter of digital inclusion is digital participation, where technology doesn’t just help people consume content, but empowers them to create it, build businesses around it, earn and inspire others through it.”
– Sylvia Mulinge, CEO, MTN Uganda
Mulinge also encouraged local creators to use the platform to showcase Ugandan and African stories to global audiences, noting that digital content can serve as a source of inspiration and economic opportunity.
The launch of MTNTV by Afromobile adds to MTN Uganda’s digital services portfolio as the company seeks to expand digital participation and support the growth of Uganda’s creative economy.
