Morocco’s DGSN-DGST deny any breach of its IT systems, security databases

RABAT – The joint pole of the General Directorate for National Security (DGSN) and the General Directorate for Territorial Surveillance (DGST) has categorically denied any breach or intrusion into its information technology systems and security databases, which adhere to the highest cybersecurity standards.

A pro-Algerian hacker group calling itself Jabaroot claimed to have leaked the data of 70,000 individuals linked to Morocco’s security services.

A statement issued by the DGSN-DGST pole emphasized that “the personal data published recently was in no way the result of a cyber breach of security information systems, but rather outdated data downloaded from databases and information systems managed by insurance companies and healthcare and social security organizations.”

The statement noted that a warning must also be issued regarding “the frequent publication of fabricated photographs, misleadingly and maliciously presented as belonging to male and female personnel across various security services, as well as the circulation of altered and forged documents alleged to be official security documents.”

“The fabricated and forged nature of these images and documents is distinctly obvious, given their use of uniforms and military ranks that do not exist in Morocco and are not utilized within the National Security apparatus in the first place, in addition to the leaked documents containing inaccurate visual identities and glaring linguistic errors,” it said.

The same source continued that “while the DGSN-DGST pole is committed to refuting and debunking all false claims alleging a cyber breach of its security data systems—which are fundamentally not connected to open internet networks—it simultaneously underscores that security investigations and inquiries will remain ongoing under the supervision of the competent public prosecution, in order to track down and apprehend all individuals involved in fabricating, preparing, and publicly disseminating this false content.”
