Moroccan international Ayoub El Kaabi suffered a serious injury on Saturday, September 5, during Olympiacos’ away match against Volos in the third round of the Greek Super League.
The Atlas Lion, who started the match, was injured following a collision with Volos goalkeeper Marios Siabanis shortly before half-time. El Kaabi remained on the ground in visible pain, prompting Volos players to urgently call for medical assistance, according to Greek media.

After receiving first aid on the pitch, the 33-year-old striker was unable to continue and was carried off on a stretcher, receiving applause from supporters at the Panthessaliko Stadium.
The exact nature and severity of the injury have yet to be determined, with medical examinations expected to establish how long El Kaabi could be sidelined.
The injury could also cast doubt over his availability for Morocco’s next training camp at the end of September, when the Atlas Lions are due to play two 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
