Morocco’s airports: More than 22 million passengers (+8.77%) in seven months

Moroccan airports welcomed a remarkable 22,282,997 passengers in the first seven months of 2026, marking an 8.77% increase from the same period in 2025, according to the National Airports Office (ONDA).

Of this total, international traffic surged by 8.82%, reaching 19,894,489 passengers, while domestic traffic climbed 8.36% to 2,388,508 passengers, as detailed in ONDA’s July 2026 commercial air traffic report.

Casablanca Mohammed V Airport led the way with 6,953,695 passengers, closely followed by Marrakech-Menara at 6,407,303, Agadir-Al Massira with 2,179,857, Tangier Ibn Battouta at 1,711,764, and Rabat-Salé with 1,446,355, according to the same source.

International traffic was primarily bolstered by the strong performance of the European market, Morocco’s largest, with 16,541,007 travelers, an increase of 9.29% year on year.

Other regions also showed significant growth: South America rose by 34.21% to 62,880 passengers, North America by 14.54% to 581,297, and Africa by 13.74% to 1,175,674 passengers. Meanwhile, traffic with Maghreb countries increased by 10.06% to 295,188 passengers. However, Middle East and Far East traffic declined by 4.12% to 1,238,443 passengers.

Aircraft movements also saw a boost, with Moroccan airports recording 164,164 by the end of July 2026, up 9.82% from the previous year. Mohammed V Airport accounted for 55,223 movements, surpassing Marrakech-Menara with 42,028 and Agadir-Al Massira with 15,009.

Air freight reached 66,980.55 tonnes in the first seven months of the year, experiencing a 12.61% increase from the same period in 2025. In July 2026 alone, Moroccan airports hosted 3,450,846 passengers.
