Morocco vs Haiti: World Cup 2026 Preview

Haiti will look to stamp their mark on this year’s World Cup in their final group game as they face the highest ranked African nation in Morocco.

Whilst The Atlas Lions look to pip Brazil to top Group B, their Caribbean opponents will seek their first World Cup points in their first appearance in the competition.

Following a narrow 1-0 loss to Scotland and a deflating 3-0 defeat to Brazil, Sebastien Migne’s men will look to turn their favours and pick up a result in their final game at this World Cup.

The Red and Blue will however, be well aware of the ability within their Matchday 3 opponents.

The Moroccans will be keen to pick up 3 points in Atlanta as they are tied on points with Group leaders Brazil after their initial draw with Carlo Ancelotti’s men was followed by a 1-0 win over Scotland.

Finishing above Brazil would mean they would face the runners up in Group F, which could be Sweden, Japan, or Netherlands – whereas finishing in second would place them against the winners of the same group.

Mohamed Ouahbi’s side were tipped to be this year’s dark horses by many, and their performances up to now are evidence of why this was the case.

Haiti’s all-time leading scorer Duckens Nazon remains a doubt, but there are no other issues of note.

Sunderland striker Wilson Isidor may find himself back in the starting lineup after starting the previous game against Brazil on the bench, as manager Sebastien Migne could revert back to a familiar 4-4-2 formation after switching to a more defensive-minded 5-4-1 in their defeat against the Selecao.

Morocco –

With no injuries to report of, Mohamed Ouahbi’s side may remain unchanged – with Real Madrid star Brahim Diaz and Ismael Saibari likely to start in attack.

Starlet Ayyoub Bouaddi looks to start in the engine of his side, and could be joined by Neil El Aynaoui and Azzedine Ounahi.

Captain Achraf Hakimi looks poised to attain his 99th cap for his country, commanding from the back most likely alongside Chadi Riad, Issa Diop, and Noussair Mazraoui – with veteran Yassine Bounou behind them.

After being dropped against Brazil, the Premier League man has a point to prove in Atlanta.

Whilst he wasn’t able to provide much of a threat in the Soldiers’ first two group games, we know through his time at Sunderland that he is more than capable of causing problems for defenders.

Partnered alongside the veteran Frantzdy Pierrot, the two will look to trouble the solid Moroccan defence on Wednesday.

If the Haitians are to unlock the Atlas Lion’s defence, Isidor could well be involved in the process.

Morocco: Ismael Saibari

With Bayern Munich looking set to secure the signature of the current PSV star, Ismael Saibari has so far looked the real deal this summer.

Following a poor defensive showing against Brazil, the 25-year-old will be seeking more goals to add to his current tally at this year’s competition.

Surrounded by an array of creative talents, there will most likely be plenty of opportunities for Saibari to get his name on the scoresheet against Haiti.
